TORTUGUERO

Day 2 - 4

The village of Tortuguero is the base for travellers looking to discover some of Costa Rica’s most spectacular nature and wildlife in the Tortuguero National Park. Asides from being an important nesting site of the endangered green turtle, the park also offers an array of activities like jungle hikes and canal cruises, and the village itself has a vibrant atmosphere and a strong Afro-Caribbean influence, and although small, is home to some good restaurants and accommodation options.

LA FORTUNA

Situated at the base of the towering Arenal Volcano, the small and unassuming town of La Fortuna is one of Costa Rica’s most popular tourist destinations. La Fortuna boasts itself as the gateway to the Arenal Volcano National Park, where you can marvel at the spectacular volcano as well as picturesque waterfalls and hot springs. The town itself is a charming spot that makes the perfect base for exploring the surroundings.
