SAN FRANCISCO

Day 1 - 3

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK

Day 3 - 4

Yosemite National Park has long been a favourite for visitors to the USA, and it's easy to see why - the vast area in the Sierra Nevada Mountains boasts a landscape of majestic granite cliffs, cascading waterfalls, giant sequoia trees and deep valleys and lakes as well as an abudance of wildlife species. The Unesco World Heritage Site offers endless hiking trails throughout, as well as opportunities for camping and other accommodation such as cabins and lodges. A must-see for outdoors enthusiasts, Yosemite is truly a natural jewel.

MOAB

Day 4 - 7

A bustling city set amongst the desert landscape of Utah’s Canyon Country, Moab is the perfect location for those looking to experience the Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. The city is a favourite with bikers, with great secluded mountain trails, and is also frequented by hikers, climbers and kayakers who are attracted by the varied landscape of the area. Although busy during high season, the vast nature of the desert is sure to offer some peace and quiet for everyone.

ARCHES NATIONAL PARK

Day 7 - 7

Arches National Park is a United States national park on the northern Colorado Plateau on the Colorado River north of the city of Moab, Utah. It preserves the world's largest concentration of natural stone arches, which are constantly being formed and destroyed by erosion and weathering. Over 2,000 arches with an opening of at least 90 cm (3 feet) have been documented in the park area.

Day 7 - 8

Best-known for its two impressive natural wonders, Page is a small city located in northern Arizona. Home to the Antelope Canyon, a narrow gorge cutting into sandstone which shows off unique red stone formations, formed over the course of thousands of years. After hiking the trails of the canyon, take a dip and cool off from the sweltering summer heat of Arizona at Lake Powell. Popular with families, the lake’s glistening water is also a great place to partake in water sports such as kayaking.

GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK

Day 8 - 10

The Grand Canyon is one of the USA's most recognisable and breathtaking landscapes, renowned the world over for its incredible red banded rocks that hold millions of years worth of history. Visitors to the park can follow hiking trails, enjoy a mule ride around its rim, go kayaking on the Colorado River or simply marvel at the dramatic vista over the deep canyon from one of many scenic viewpoints. The Grand Canyon is a must-see on any itinerary and has earned its place as one of the world's best natural wonders.

SPRINGDALE (UTAH)

Day 10 - 13

First settled by Mormons, Springdale developed over time into the small town that it is today. Situated in the Dixie region of Utah and just outside of the entrance to the Zion National Park, the town attracts many visitors looking to experience the outdoors and adventure activities on offer in the stunning nature preserve.

BRYCE CANYON CITY

Day 13 - 13

A vast and magnificent natural wonder, first declared a National Monument in 1923 before being given its status as a National Park in 1928, Bryce Canyon is one of the most spectacular as well as the most popular destinations in Utah’s Canyon Country. One of the park’s highlights are the ‘Hoodoos’, long and thin rock formations which can be admired from a natural amphitheatre. Even better, visit at dawn - the rocks are known to shimmer and change colour in the rays of the rising sun.

ZION NATIONAL PARK

Day 13 - 13

The towering red cliffs of Zion National Park are a sight to behold, their iconic image attracting flocks of visitors each year - and with good reason. Choose to take a tour through the 57 mile long Zion Canyon Scenic Drive or, for the more adventurous, hike the steep rocks of Angels Landing or The Narrows trail which leads through the Virgin River. From mesas and grottoes to waterfalls and rock pools, the diverse and enchanting landscapes here are second to none and offer endless opportunities.

LAS VEGAS

Day 13 - 15

The first words that come to mind upon hearing Las Vegas are casinos, gambling and bright lights, but the world-famous Sin City has so much more to offer. Listen to renowned musicians, marvel at the stunts of the Cirque du Soleil or take a guided tour through the museum of history and crime, and of course make sure to experience the buzzing nightlife in its lavishly decorated resorts.

FURNACE CREEK

Day 15 - 16

Situated in the heart of the Death Valley, the village of Furnace Creek is surrounded by a number of campsites and other amenities for those looking to explore the area. A vast desert with an extreme climate and landscape and a diverse variety of fauna and flora, Death Valley is one of the most unique natural parks in the world.

LOS ANGELES

Day 16 - 18

The City of Angels - known worldwide for its movie industry, the towering Hollywood sign and its celebrity culture. Modern Los Angeles is a city of sharp contrast with a mixture of cultures, as well as an important centre for business, media and arts. The city draws in visitors with its Mediterranean climate, excellent beaches and laid-back atmosphere, and wows with its diverse culinary scene and exciting nightlife.
